Built From a Gap - Custom Metal Credit Cards with Tap to Pay

Built From a Gap

How Fluid Print Works Redefined the Standard

Every product has a starting point.

Ours began with a problem the market wasn’t solving.

As payment technology evolved, tap to pay quickly became the standard. Speed, convenience, and security were no longer optional—they were expected. But in the world of custom card design, something didn’t add up.

You could upgrade the look of a card.

Or you could keep its functionality.

Rarely—if ever—could you have both.

The Gap in the Market

At the time, most third-party customization focused on appearance alone. Cards were being redesigned, refinished, and repurposed—but often at the cost of performance.

Functionality, especially contactless capability, wasn’t the priority.

And when it came to tap to pay, reliability was inconsistent at best.

That wasn’t a trade-off we were willing to accept.

A Different Approach

Fluid Print Works was built on a simple idea:

Design should never come at the cost of performance.

Instead of following existing methods, we chose to rethink the process from the ground up—starting with what mattered most: preserving the core technology inside the card.

Because no matter how good a card looks, it has to work. Every time.

The Challenge

Integrating premium materials with modern payment technology isn’t straightforward. Especially when dealing with tap-to-pay functionality, where signal strength, chip integrity, and internal structure all play a role.

This wasn’t something that could be solved with surface-level changes.

It required precision, restraint, and a deeper level of engineering.

Engineering the Solution

Through extensive refinement and real-world testing, we developed a process that allows us to transform cards without compromising what makes them functional.

This includes protecting the most sensitive components—like the chip—and ensuring that tap-to-pay capability remains intact and reliable.

The result is a product that doesn’t force a compromise.

The Standard We Set

Today, every card we produce reflects that original goal:

  • Full functionality, preserved
  • Tap-to-pay performance, maintained
  • Premium materials, executed with precision

Not as separate features—but as a single, unified standard.

More Than Just a Card

What started as a gap in the market became the foundation of our approach.

We didn’t set out to follow what was already being done.

We set out to build something better.

Something that delivers both:

Seamless technology.

Unmatched craftsmanship.

Looking Forward

As payment technology continues to evolve, so will we. But one thing remains constant:

We will never compromise performance for design.

Because the standard isn’t just how a card looks—

it’s how it works.
